Brunswick, MD – November 2, 2017— Iyotee Inc., a software development company based in McLean, VA, is hosting a series of open houses in the Brunswick area to introduce users to its new, private social network app called Go2s. The app, which launched in early October, seeks to put users back in control of their online exposure, using encryption, privacy controls, and eliminating outside advertising to address growing concerns over insecurity in traditional social media.

With a bottom line dependent on ad revenue, platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google, view monitoring users’ activities as the best way to target promotions and increase screen time. Increasingly, this means not only users’ public posts, but the content of all types of communication. In fact, this data is considered more desirable because it is likely to be uncensored, providing a valuable window onto people’s thoughts, desires, and habits.

Go2s decision to take outside advertising out of the picture is a subtle shift with notable repercussions. Describing the biggest differences, Mehdi Tehranchi, Go2s founder and CEO, says, “Go2s is the only social network where you can control who appears on your timeline and only allow your recommended resources and trusted contacts to reach you. No sponsored content, no posts from strangers, not even notifications from friends of friends if you so choose. The result is a app that is uncluttered and focused on presenting the information that you want from the people you know.”

Go2s is inviting area residents to a series of open houses to see the app in action and talk with its founder. Upcoming dates are:

  • Thursday, Nov. 9th at the GBACC Business Expo from 5pm-8pm
  • Friday, Nov. 17th at Benancio’s Southwest Grill from 6pm-8pm
  • Saturday, Dec. 2nd at Beans in the Belfry from 10am-12pm
